How you can make a difference Your old pair of spectacles and a donation of £1 are essential in continuing the work of Vision Aid Overseas. £1 will pay for a pair of spectacles to be sorted, serviced and freighted to the most remote areas of the developing world where they are desperately needed. Vision Aid Overseas’ professional volunteers will carry out eye tests and re-use your old spectacles to restore someone’s sight. What spectacles are suitable? It is important that the spectacles donated are in a reasonable condition. Spectacles that have severely scratched lenses or broken frames cannot be used. Bifocals or varifocals are also unusable. I have no old spectacles – how can I help? If you have no old spectacles to offer, you can still help by donating £1 or more towards getting other pairs of spectacles to the developing world and help transform someone’s life.
